For Immediate Release
The East Coast Super League has granted an exemption to the playing rules for the 2021 season with respect to the AIHL players playing in the East Coast Super League.
Any established AIHL players who have registered, and are playing ECSL this season, will be granted full exemption for their participation in the Sydney Bears Exhibition Games and the McCormack Cup .
These are AIHL recognised players who were registered in the AIHL last year and played AIHL last year. (Pre Covid) Any established ECSL player who chooses to play up into AIHL will NOT have an exemption and will have the usual limit of games in place.
For Example Brian Funes (Raptors) will be permitted to play ECSL and the Sydney Bears Exhibition games this year. However if Jason Kvisle was selected to join the Bears team he would be limited to the six as per the ECSL handbook, should he play six games he would be unable to return back to the Rebels ECSL team.
