Late Thursday, early Friday morning one of our ECSL players was involved in a horrific accident whilst camping outside of the Lithgow area.
Tom Cross (Sting #16), was camping with a group of his mates when he was injured in a freak accident. Tom is in a serious condition at Concord Hospital with his mum and close friends by his side.
The ECSL players are close nit group of players, most players have either played with Tom for the Sting or for NSW and everyone in the league knows Tom as he is a very likeable young man who gives 110% every time he takes to the ice.
Tom has been a valuable member of the Sting since 2007. He grew up as a member of the Sydney Bears Club, and in 2008 played a handful of games for the Sydney Bears AIHL Team, however Tom has spent the majority of his career in the yellow and black uniform representing the Sting.
Tom has a long and difficult road a head of him and it saddens us to learn of his condition. The ECSL would like to wish Tom and his mum Lorelle all our love and support in the difficult times they are currently enduring.
We encourage anyone who wishes to send a message of support to Tom, to do so via facebook or via email to his mother. I have been informed that Tom's mum Lorelle has been passing on your messages to him.
